Frequently Asked Questions
- Magic: the Gathering
- Do you buy Magic cards?
Yes! We can offer both trade in credit or cash for Magic cards. We also buy bulk lots.
- What Magic events do you run?
Commander, Standard, and Limited are the most popular formats at our shop so we host both casual Commander gatherings and most of our tournaments are either Standard or Booster Drafts, plus Sealed prerelease events when new sets come out. We will also host the occasional Pioneer, Pauper and Two-Headed Giant Tournaments. Check out our current event schedule on our calendar.
- How do you play Magic?
To play Magic you must first assemble a deck containing anywhere from 40 to 100 cards depending on the format. You begin a match with a certain about of "life," usually 20, and you battle against one or more opponents until only one player has any remaining life. They are the victor!
While it may be possible to learn the specific mechanics of the game from online guides, there is no replacement for in-person instruction. Come by the shop and we'll be happy to give you a free starter deck and walk you through the game play. We recommend making an appointment by emailing us because otherwise you may have to wait while we attend to other shoppers.

- What is your return policy?
You may return sealed items up to 14 days after purchase, and you may exchange items up to 30 days after purchase. Discounted, damaged, and secondary market items such as Magic singles are excluded from the return policy. Items purchased between Nov 15 and Dec 25 are treated as a Dec 25 purchase for purposes of returns in order to allow a longer return window for holiday gifts. A receipt is required to return/exchange items.
- My game is missing components, what should I do?
In the case of missing components, you should first try to contact the manufacturer/publisher. Look in the back of the rules manual if you're not sure who to contact. They will usually be able to send you replacement pieces.
- What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash and all major debit/credit cards. Like most small businesses, we appreciate anytime you can pay with cash! If the choice is between debit or credit though, our processing fees for debit cards are significantly lower, so we encourage you to swipe debit if cash is not an option. We accept personal checks at our discretion.
