Tarkir: Dragonstorm Prerelease

Return to the iconic plane of Tarkir for an epic battle between dragons and clans. As powerful dragonstorms spiral Tarkir into chaos and wild dragons darken the skies, the five clans fight alongside their new Spirit Dragons for supremacy over the land. Be among the first to fight dragons with dragons and play Tarkir: Dragonstorm before release day. Attend a Prerelease event starting April 4 and battle for your clan’s supremacy on Tarkir. For Tarkir: Dragonstorm, Prerelease Packs come in five versions—one for each of Tarkir’s clans—allowing you to align with your favorite or try them all across multiple events.

Format: Each player receives an Tarkir: Dragonstorm prerelease kit, which contains 6 play booster* packs, a foil rare/mythic promo card, and a spindown die.

Players will build a minimum 40-card deck with the contents of their prerelease kits and basic lands provided by Just Games. Your deck composition may be changed between games and matches and does not need to be “reset” to its original list at the start of each match.

*Set and Draft Boosters are being combined into a new type of product called the Play Booster. Taking the play of Draft Boosters and the fun opening experience of Set Boosters, Play Boosters are both a rewarding opening experience and playable in Limited formats.

Tournaments are run using the Magic Companion App. If possible, please download this app to your smartphone or tablet prior to the event and create an account (or use your Arena account if you have one). You can still participate without the app.

Magic: the Gathering is intended for ages 13+ due to complexity, but if you are younger, know the rules well, and would like to participate, please arrive 30 minutes early so the shopkeepers can assess your readiness for the tournament. This only needs to be done once, so if you’ve played here before, please disregard. Prerelease events are especially great opportunities for new players to try out their skills in a friendly, casual environment.

Event Policies: Advanced registration is highly encouraged to attend this event as each tournament is limited by available seating (28 on Friday, 20 on Saturday, 24 on Sunday). Please arrive at least 10 minutes early because the tournament will begin promptly at the listed start time and we like to go over set specific mechanics beforehand.
