Dragons & Drafts
This is a 2-session adventure for Call of Cthulhu, which means the adventure will take 2 sessions to complete. Signing up for one session will ensure your place at both events (price is reflected for both sign ups).
Event Details: This is a Call of Cthulhu adventure for 3-5 players. Call of Cthulhu is mechanically simple and easy to learn. If you’ve never played before, the rules will be taught at the table, so just bring some dice and a pencil!
Angel’s Thirst
“Religion is still useful among the herd—that it helps their orderly conduct as nothing else could. The crude human animal is ineradicably superstitious, and there is every biological reason why they should be. Take away his Christian god and saints, and he will worship something else…” – H. P. Lovecraft
This Call of Cthulhu 7e scenario is set in Los Angeles, 1922. You’ll be playing private investigators, police officers, paranormal researchers, and others called to investigate what seems to be a simple missing person case. You’ll discover deeper links to a cult stretching back before written history, for in dark alleyways and high temples, the Society of the Angelic Ones waits. Themes include organized crime, fear, and the use of violence for power and control.
This is a two session scenario, so please only sign up if you think you can make both. We will start by making characters together at the table. If you’re experienced with Call of Cthulhu, you may make a character in advance — general investigative and combat skills are suggested.
This event runs from 5pm to 9pm on Wednesday, October 25th. The event takes place in the back garden behind Heliotrope, through the alley (rain or shine, the area is covered). The event may run past 9pm if all agree, however please make sure you close your tab and turn in your dishes/glasses prior to 9pm. There will be a follow up game on Wednesday, November 11th (paying for one gets you a seat at both).
*Dragons & Drafts benefits local bars/breweries by bringing in customers during off-peak hours and we encourage players to purchase food and/or beer. To this end, players must be 21+ to participate in Dragons & Drafts events.
About Heliotrope:
We strive to cook and brew with as many local ingredients as possible, from produce grown within a few miles of the brewery, to barley harvested and malted here in Virginia. Our walls are hung with rotating local artwork, not televisions, and our taproom is set with community tables intended to promote conversation with friends, new and old, over a shared meal or a round of beers.
