RPG One-Shot

Welcome to World2

Dungeon Master: Matt B.

You and your friends have recently started playing the newly-released World2, an MMORPG that uses state-of-the-art AI to procedurally generate game areas, NPCs, and quests.

One of your buddies, MoonlightHorizon, stayed up late one night playing World2. The next day, he didn’t show up to work, and you weren’t able to get in contact. Someone that lives close to him went to his house and found that he was unconscious in his chair. He was taken to the hospital, but shows no signs of waking up. Mysteriously, he’s still listed as “Online” and active in World2…

You decide to track him down in-game to see if that can explain what’s going on.

This one-shot uses the Micro OpenD6 system, which is a simple, customizable, and open source TTRPG system. The only dice you will need are 5 D6s. Character sheets will be provided. You can download the rule set for free here: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/155290/Micropend6-RPG

Have a character idea in mind before the game, but we will collaboratively create characters at the start of the session. Because the setting is within an adaptive online game, your character can be virtually anything you want! You could play as a medival knight, a superhero, three kobolds in a trenchcoat, a 1920’s gumshoe, or a cartoon alligator riding a skateboard.
